My Self-Imposed Fitness Challenge…
is on hold. For another week or two. We are still waiting for the dumbbells we ordered to get here. They are the key to the program I will be doing since muscle burns fat! Oh yeah!
In the meantime, I am strictly following the Weight Watchers points plan which always works for me, and I’m doing cardio for exercise. So far so good. Today is my last day of week one and I have lost four pounds! Whooo hoooo! My hope is to lose another two pounds per week. However, I know that once I start seriously working out (especially with weights) I will actually gain weight. It sucks but I’m prepared for it because it ALWAYS happens to me when I first start. Apparently, it happens to a lot if not most people too. Here is the reason why. So, knowing in advance that the weight gain will be temporary, I’ll just have to push through it for a couple of weeks until my muscles adjust and stop retaining fluid. Unfortunately, most people don’t know this happens so they figure “why am I even trying?” and they give up and quit their workouts. I will admit, I have been guilty of this myself. But no more. Now that I know there is an actual reason for the weight gain and more importantly that it is temporary, I will keep going instead of giving in to what the scale says.
So that’s the latest on my self-imposed fitness challenge. Just wanted you all to know that I didn’t quit before I even started so stay tuned and I’ll let you know when the “hard” stuff starts. Oh boy…what am I getting myself into???

Congratulations on losing 4 lbs. That is wonderful. I want to go back on WW but the $$ is too much right now. I’m officially starting my Tae-bo tomorrow (I’ve done some but I worked out a schedule and stuff to keep me on track). Good luck!!!
Thanks Kim! I’m not actually going and paying every week. I’m just using my old books from the last time. Let me know if you need copies of anything and I would be more than happy to send them to you! I swear it the only thing that I can stay on a long time that actually works. And it’s easy to maintain after too. Seriously, let me know
Good luck with the Tae-Bo! I’ve been doing it since it came out years ago and I still love it. I wanted to try a new workout altogether though so I’ll let you know how I like that one when I finally start it. I’ll admit though…I’m kinda scared! LOL!
Congrats on the weight loss - I bet you can’t wait for the dumb bells to arrive! Woo hoo!
